MN National Guard Child & Youth Programs
Ice Fishing Camp Saturday

TCWU along with the MN National Guard Youth & Child Programs are joining together to host our annual Youth Ice Fishing Camp. This event offers a unique opportunity to support our mission of Giving Back to the Community, providing meaningful social engagement and fun for up to 150 children and their families.

 

We are seeking 30 volunteers to assist with four key roles during the event: Setup, Fishing Coaches, Lunch Service, and Tear Down.

 

Click on the Volunteer registration link provided above. This will take you to the Signup page, where you can view and select from the available shifts. Feel free to invite friends and family to join and volunteer as well!

Event Details

Date: Saturday February 7, 2026

9:00 - Volunteer arrival

9:15 - Set up shelters, cut holes, scoop holes, chairs and heaters

10:00 - Registration begins. Meet and greet families and guide them to a fun day of fishing

10:30 - 2:00 Fishing!

12:00 - Lunch is served

2:00 - Tear down and close it up.

 

Setting up includes:

  • Set up ice houses, Thank you to Eskimo for providing shelters!

  • Drilling holes and scooping out ice

  • Setting up Heaters and chairs

  • Take a kid and family fishing

 

What to bring:

  • A couple extra chairs

  • A heater if you have one

  • A Hub ice house if you have one

  • Two or three fishing rods

We may not need to use your personal equipment but it would be nice to have extra supplies on hand. if you have the time please bring your gear along.

  • Take Exit 129 and turn right onto MN-97 E/Lake Dr NE 

  • Follow MN-97 to Scandia Trail N

  • Turn right onto Manning Trail

  • Turn left onto 180th St

 

From I-35E N

  • Take Exit 123A onto Main St/Frenchman Rd

  • Take Frenchman Rd, to Hwy-61 and go north

  • Turn right on 170th St

  • Turn Left on Manning Trail

  •  Turn Right onto 180th St
