TCWU is excited to welcome an Dan Eigen, better known across the Midwest as "WalleyeDan" as our headline speaker at our Thursday, October 1st club meeting!

Dan is a former outdoor television host, and the owner of Walleyedan's Guide Service based in the Brainerd Lakes Area. For over three decades, he has been a central figure in promoting fishing and a Midwest outdoor culture.

Early Life & Career Origins

• Childhood: Dan grew up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. His parents were passionate outdoorsmen who introduced him and his brother, John, to hunting, fishing, and trapping at a young age.

• The Spark: His lifelong love for walleye began during family resort vacations to Gull Lake near Brainerd, Minnesota.

• The Nickname: Before guiding full-time, Dan worked for the parks department in the city of Baxter. After a highly successful walleye trip with a coworker and his son, the coworker suggested Walleyedan as his new city email address. The name stuck permanently.

Professional Milestones

• Guide Service Founded: Dan launched what originally began as the Gull Lake Guide Service in 1989. Over the decades, it evolved into Walleyedan's Guide Service — expanding into a large operation with a fleet of professional guides orchestrating thousands of open-water and ice fishing trips annually across the Brainerd Lakes and the Whitefish Chain.

Why You Don't Want to Miss This
